Police have arrested a man after he broke into a Paralowie pharmacy early this morning.
About 4am on Tuesday 7 July, police were called to a shopping centre on Liberator Drive after a man was seen smashing the glass of a shop front.
Northern District police quickly responded and saw a man run off as they approached. Patrols had a short foot chase before the suspect was arrested in nearby bushes.
Upon being searched, the man was found in possession of prescription medication along with a balaclava, a torch and gloves. The man also had an axe which police believe he used to smash his way into the chemist.
A 51-year-old man from Parafield Gardens was charged with serious criminal trespass, theft, property damage and going equipped to commit an offence. He was refused bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today.
