Child approach deemed misunderstanding in Gymea

Police investigating a reported child approach at Gymea today, have determined the incident was the result of a misunderstanding.

Officers from Sutherland Police Area Command had been investigating a report of a child approach involving a 14-year-old boy on North West Arm Road, Gymea yesterday (Wednesday 20 March 2019).

Police were told a man driving a van offered the boy a lift.

Following an appeal for public assistance, a 76-year-old man came forward and has been spoken to by police, who have determined that the incident was a misunderstanding.
