Child dies after crash in Glebe

A child has died after being struck by a vehicle in Glebe this morning.

Just before 8.15am (Friday 3 December 2021), emergency services were called to the intersection of Mitchell Street and Glebe Street, Glebe, following reports of a pedestrian crash.

On arrival, police were told a three-year-old boy had been hit a car and was unresponsive.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died a short time later.

Officers from Leichhardt Police Area Command established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.

The driver of the car – a 34-year-old man – was uninjured and taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for mandatory testing.
