Child struck by ute in Sydney’s south west

A child has been taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead after she was hit by a car in Sydney’s south west.

Emergency services were called to Campbelltown Road at Bardia about 8pm (Sunday 20 February 2022), after a 10-year-old girl riding a pushbike was struck by a utility.

The child suffered a fractured leg and possible abdominal injuries and was treated at the scene before being taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a stable condition.

Officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command established a crime scene and have spoken with the 45-year-old male driver.

The Crash Investigation Unit (CIU) have been called to the scene and will be conducting inquiries.
