Christmas additional waste service for urban and rural households

Over summer, we buy, party and throw away more than at any other time of the year.

Urban and rural residents who pay for a domestic or rural waste management charge, are reminded of the additional waste services during the during the Christmas/New Year period.

For urban residents, please refer to your waste collection calendar for the date of your additional garbage bin collection.

For rural residents in zone 11 with a Tuesday waste collection:

Your garbage collection is Tuesday 28 December 2021.

Your recycling collection is Tuesday 4 January 2022.

For rural residents in zone 12 with a Wednesday waste collection:

Your garbage collection is Wednesday 29 December 2021.

Your recycling collection is Wednesday 5 January 2022.

Rural residents can refer to the flyer delivered to households which details their date of service, or can visit https://www.kiama.nsw.gov.au/Services/Waste-and-recycling/Rural-waste-collection

This service will continue each year moving forward and will be included in future waste collection calendars.

Just a reminder for problem household wastes such as batteries, cardboard, computers, televisions, paints, light globes, mobile phones, textiles, batteries, gas bottles, fire extinguishers and smoke detectors, drop them off at our Community Recycling Centre (CRC), located at the Minnamurra Waste and Recycling Facility.

The CRC will be closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
