Fireworks will light up the skies above Elizabeth Quay and Northbridge on 31 December as the City of Light rings in the new year with an array of family-friendly entertainment.
The action starts 5pm at Elizabeth Quay, with everyone’s favourite Fun Fair accompanied by the spectacular atmosphere of the New Year’s Eve Celebrations, presented by Roy Hill.
City of Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said 8pm firework display ensured young and old could join in the festivities.
“Each year, our family-friendly New Year’s Eve event draws thousands of people from all over Perth into the City, and this year, thanks to Roy Hill, Elizabeth Quay is the place to be, with our celebrations set to be bigger and better than ever,” Mr Zempilas said.
“There’s no shortage of entertainment. Come for the fireworks and the Elizabeth Quay Fun Fair or explore the final nights of the Rio Tinto Christmas Lights Trail. A variety of food trucks will also be cranking with loads of tasty options for everyone to enjoy on top of our world-class restaurants and bars,” he said.
Hancock Prospecting Operations CEO Gerhard Veldsman said Roy Hill were delighted to be partnering with the City of Perth to present this year’s New Year’s Eve entertainment.
“New Year’s Eve is a wonderful time to celebrate and look forward to the exciting possibilities of the year ahead,” Mr Veldsman said.
“There’s no better place to be than our great city centre which will be buzzing with family friendly entertainment, as we light up the sky with a spectacular fireworks display to ring in 2024.
“We encourage everyone to head into the City, grab a bite to eat, enjoy the roving entertainment and marvel at the spectacular fireworks as we live up to our name as the City of Light,” Mr Zempilas said.
“For those keen to party on, the Fun Fair continues through until midnight. And the skies above Northbridge will light up with additional fireworks to ring in the new year when the clock strikes twelve.

Getting there
The City of Perth reminds patrons that there will be road closures and no vehicle access to the restricted area around Elizabeth Quay. Parking restrictions will be in place, infringements and towing may apply. Check street signage for time restrictions.
