City of Stonnington announces first round 2022-23 grant recipients

Twenty incredible artists and creative organisations have received City of Stonnington Arts and Culture Grants in the first round for 2022-23.

All recipients will develop works across a diverse range of art forms that will increase the arts experiences that will contribute to the cultural vibrancy of the city, and sustain our local arts and cultural profile.

Among the 12-month line-up, Melbourne Shakespeare Inc. promise to bring us a series of exciting, engaging contemporary performances of some of Shakespeare’s classic plays in unique settings across Melbourne, and award-winning actor, writer and producer Patrick Livesey will star in the world premiere of Angus Cameron’s play titled Cavemxn at Chapel Off Chapel in November.

Newcomers to the City of Stonnington Arts and Culture Grants program include 3MBS Fine Music Melbourne who will present the Music, She Wrote festival of classical, baroque, and folk music celebrating female composers and musicians, and GLAAS Inc. (Glass Light Art & Architecture Synergies), who will host various exhibitions in recognition of the International Year of Glass.

One of the five categories of grants is for in-kind projects, specifically hosted by Chapel Off Chapel, which will see several performances from Theatrical Inc., Salty Theatre, and the Lieder Society of Victoria take centre stage.
