City officers offering support to high impacted areas following severe

photo of team cleaning up

More than 100 City officers have been deployed in the areas most highly impacted by the Christmas and New year severe weather events as a part of Operation Clean Up.

The officers already reached out to hundreds of the city’s most hardest hit residents, providing information on resources and support options available.

They have also been distributing food packs prepared by the Salvation Army.

City officers have also reached out to the most vulnerable members of the community who have been impacted to provide assistance.

Since the storms, City officers have visited Helensvale, Wongawallan, Upper Coomera, Guanaba, Pacific Pines, Pimpama, Mr Nathan, Austinville, Lower Beechmont.

This has been done in conjunction with partner agencies such as the SES, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and Surf Lifesaving Queensland.

Our officers and partner agencies will continue to work on the ground visiting the most highly impacted areas to offer further assistance and provide support.

The City is also working to clean the debris from the most highly affected areas, as a part of a once in a generation storm clean up.

A variety of measures will be used with detail which will be made available early next week.
