City roof top arrest, South Australia

A man has been arrested on the roof of a CBD business this morning.

About 8.10am Wednesday 29 April police were called to South Terrace after a member of the public reported seeing a man with a knife acting suspiciously.

When patrols arrived the man ran from them before managing to get into the roof space of a nearby building on Gilbert Street.

Patrols cordoned the building and with the assistance of MFS, police dog PD Zeus, STAR Group offices and a police drone operator, the man was arrested without incident about 9.50am.

The 26-year-old Oaklands Park man has been charged with property damage, unlawfully on premises, unlawful possession and hinder. Police seized a bike that had allegedly been ridden by the man that is suspected of having been stolen.

He was refused bail and is expected to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
