City’s best 11 businesses celebrated

The most innovative, creative and professional local businesses were celebrated at the 2019 City of Melton Business Excellence Awards on Friday.

Eleven of the best in retail, trades, micro business, tourism, and more were awarded top honours for their outstanding work in their respective fields.

The winners were highly commended for their successes, having been carefully selected from 30 finalists, out of the biggest pool of nominations in the awards’ 13-year history.

City of Melton Mayor, Cr Bob Turner, praised the winners and finalists at a glittering gala dinner at Tapcorp Park on Friday night.

“The awards gala was a fantastic celebration and showcase of some amazing local businesses,” Cr Turner said.

“A huge congratulations to all the winners. There were so many deserving contenders and it is such a credit to the winning businesses that they achieved these accolades in a hugely competitive field.

“It was great to see the many talented and hard-working people in the room celebrating their successes together and networking with other leading professionals.”

Eynesbury Homestead & Golf took out the coveted Business of the Year Award, impressing the judges with their work to preserve Eynesbury’s distinct bushland setting while bringing tourism to the City of Melton.

Twelve businesses sponsored the award categories, with Quest Caroline Springs the principal sponsor for the third year running.

“Our award sponsors are great advocates for business excellence and it’s a pleasure to work with them to celebrate these impressive local achievements,” Cr Turner said.
