Civillian employee fined for drink driving – Northern Region

A civilian NSW Police Force employee has been fined after a low range drink driving offence on the State’s Central Coast this morning.

About 9.50am on Friday 8 May 2026, officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Highway Patrol were conducting stationary testing on the Central Coast Highway, Bateau Bay, when they directed the driver of a grey Volkswagen hatchback to stop for testing.

The driver of the vehicle, a 42-year-old man, was arrested after allegedly returning a positive reading.

He was taken to The Entrance Police Station for secondary testing, which allegedly returned a breath analysis reading of 0.050.

The unsworn employee was issued a Traffic Infringement Notice for drive with low-range PCA.

His driver’s license was suspended for three months.
