Clean Up Australia Day with Bayside City Council

Bayside City Council staff are calling on residents to join us at 9am on Sunday March 1 for Bayside’s Clean Up Australia Day event at Green Point, Brighton.

Partnering with Hampton Beach Patrol, Love Our Street Hampton and Friends of Bayside Roads, we will be cleaning up the beaches either side of the Green Point car park, including the parkland and along the cliff top.

Bring along a rubbish bag and a pair of gloves and join in the movement to clean up Australia.

Following the litter picking, volunteers will have the opportunity to discuss Bayside’s sustainability and waste initiatives and learn about what Council is already doing to address the environmental problems we are facing as a community.

This year, Clean Up Australia Day celebrates 30 years and the theme for 2020 is ‘Step up to clean up’.

Encourage your friends, family and colleagues to step up to clean up and collect as much rubbish as we can before it causes harm. Together we can safeguard our beautiful foreshore and you can learn about how Council works all year round to clean up Bayside.

Clean Up Australia Day is the nation’s largest community-based mobilisation event, and last year more than 680,000 volunteers removed over 15,000 ute loads of rubbish from the 6,901 registered locations across the country.

Please note: We will have a limited number of bags and pairs of gloves available on the day.
