Closing time for Midweek Melbourne Money

Last drinks will be called and plates cleared for Midweek Melbourne Money meals this evening, with the $5 million scheme fully gobbled up.

The second serving of the popular Melbourne Money initiative has filled the city with diners since launching on Monday 15 November.

The scheme offers a 30 per cent rebate on meals served between Monday and Thursday across the municipality.

While the deal ends tonight, diners will have until 11.59pm on Thursday 2 December to submit their claims.

Midweek Melbourne Money is being offered through the $200 million Melbourne City Revitalisation Fund – a joint partnership between the City of Melbourne and the Victorian Government.

“Victorians have squeezed almost every last dollar out of Midweek Melbourne Money, but there’s still time for a last-minute date night or cheese and wine with your mates after work,” the Lord Mayor said.

“I want to thank everyone who has visited our marvellous city for a meal in the last few weeks and helped us reignite Melbourne – the buzz is well and truly back.

“I look forward to seeing the good times continue this summer, as foodies continue to soak up everything Melbourne has to offer.”

“Midweek Melbourne Money has been a driving factor in bolstering business confidence as the city reopens with 92 per cent of diners saying the scheme influenced their decision the visit the city,” Cr Campbell said.

“Every booking made as a result of the incentive represents a boost to the local economy and another step forward towards our recovery.”

“Around 40 per cent of diners also shopped in the city on their visit, showing the flow-on effects of Melbourne Money to other sectors.”
