Closure of Operation Romeo Creeper, Logan District

Police have charged three men following the closure of ‘Operation Romeo Creeper’ yesterday; a five-month effort targeting the production of dangerous drugs, primarily cannabis, in the Logan District since March.

Yesterday, detectives from the Logan Tactical Crime Squad executed search warrants at three addresses across the Logan District.

It will be alleged that at an address on Dennis Road, Cedar Vale, officers located two hydroponic grow rooms under the house and further mature plants in bushland surrounding the property. Detectives allegedly located 83 plants – or approximately 50 kilograms – of cannabis, steroids and heat-sealing equipment, electric scales and ammunition.

A 43-year-old Cedar Vale man was arrested and has now been charged with two counts of possessing dangerous drugs and one count each of producing dangerous drugs, possessing anything used in the commission of crime and possessing explosives (ammunition).

He is scheduled to appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on September 18.

It will be alleged that at an address at Boorah Road, Jimboomba, officers located a hydroponic grow room, 20 plants – or approximately 12 kilograms – of cannabis, drug pipes, grinders, electric scales and fireworks.

A 56-year-old Jimboomba man was arrested and charged with one cunt each of producing dangerous drugs, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing drug utensils, possessing anything used in the commission of crime and possessing explosives (fireworks).

He is scheduled to appear at the Beaudesert Magistrates Court on September 10.

It will be alleged that at an address on Bushman Drive, Flagstone, officers located a hydroponic grow room containing 60 cannabis plants, ammunition, a silencer, a drug pipe and electric grinder.

A 33-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and has now been charged with one count each of producing dangerous drugs, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing anything used in the commission of crime and possessing drug utensils.

He is scheduled to appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on September 16.

Investigations continue.
