Two men have been charged following a Drug and Firearms Squad investigation into the supply of cocaine in Sydney’s south.
In September 2018, detectives from the State Crime Command’s Drug and Firearms Squad established Strike Force Legge to investigate the supply of illicit drugs in the St George, Sutherland Shire and Eastern Suburbs areas.
Following extensive investigations, strike force detectives arrested a 29-year-old man outside a home in Woolaware about 9am last Thursday (25 July 2019).
Just after 2.30pm the same day, a 27-year-old man was arrested outside a home in Caringbah.
Shortly after, two search warrants were executed at a home in Caringbah South and a business in Caringbah.
During the searches, police seized 16g of cocaine, two replica firearms, drug paraphernalia, electronic storage devices, mobile phones, and $2300 cash.
The 27-year-old man was charged with 28 offences including 25 counts of supply prohibited drug, knowingly/recklessly direct criminal group assist crime, possess unauthorised prohibited firearm, and possess unauthorised firearm.
The 29-year-old man was charged with 14 supply prohibited drug offences including and one count of participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.
They were both refused bail and appeared at Sutherland Local Court last Friday (26 July 2019).
The younger man was formally refused bail to re-appear at the same court today (Tuesday 30 July 2019).
The older man was formally refused bail to re-appear at the same court on Monday 30 September 2019.
Investigations are continuing.
