Commissioner’s Christmas Committee spreading festive cheer

Last week, Deputy Commissioner Tracy Linford attended the annual Queensland Police Service (QPS) Commissioner’s Christmas Committee gift drive to donate gifts to the Department of Children, Youth Justice and Multicultural Affairs.

The gift drive has increased in size from 1,700 gifts in 2020 to an incredible 2,653 donated gifts this year, all of which were kindly donated by QPS members and Variety Queensland for children in care.

Santa was on hand to deliver the presents to the children

Deputy Commissioner Linford said she was honoured to attend the gift drive, which was celebrating its 29th year.

“It is pleasing to see the generosity which has been displayed by so many people,” Deputy Commissioner Linford said.

“I give my personal thanks to everyone involved.

“I wish everyone a merry Christmas and the very best for a safe and happy festive season.”

A big thank you to all involved, including Country Women’s Association Pine Rivers Branch, Community Supporting Police and QBANK.
