Our Community Care workers will continue helping thousands of vulnerable residents during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Personal care and cleaning, meals on wheels and even deliveries of toilet paper have helped elderly residents and others with physical or social impairments to stay at home safely.
More than 5000 people currently receive assistance through programs delivered by the City:
– Commonwealth Home Support Program
– Home and Community Care (for younger people)
– Home Care Package
Services offered to existing and new clients include, delivered meals, shopping support, personal care and home cleaning and essential home modifications, such as ramps and rails.
In line with the latest advice from government health authorities, the City has implemented additional safety precautions to continue safely delivering these services.
These include extra Personal Protective Equipment for staff, reduced in-person contact where possible and reducing cleaning and home maintenance to essential jobs that keep people safe at home.

Our Community Care Workers make a huge difference to the lives of more than 5000 people in our region while our Meals on Wheels team delivers more than 45,000 meals each year.
