Division 1 ratepayers will have a chance to ask questions or raise any issues directly with Townsville City Councillors at Community Council tomorrow night in Rollingstone.
Division 1 Councillor Margie Ryder said it is a great opportunity for residents to speak to the Mayor, Councillors, Directors and senior staff about their local area.
“Community Council is a fantastic way for the community to discuss local issues with Councillors – you may want to ask a question or suggest a new idea for the area,” Cr Ryder said.
“It is part of our Open Council reforms and it gives residents a better understanding of the decision-making process.
“It’s a great forum for discussing any ongoing or new issues.
“Mayor Jenny Hill promised to take Council meetings to the suburbs – it increases Council’s engagement with the community and the feedback and suggestions help us make decisions.
“There will also be an opportunity for people to meet with Council staff and Committee Chairs.”
Residents can get an insight into Council at the Rollingstone Community Centre on Community Crescent tomorrow night from 6pm to 8:30pm.
