Community funding awarded in Shoalhaven

Community groups and not for profit organisations will receive close to $200,000 in donations from Council.

In its meeting this week, Council agreed to distribute the Community Donations Fund to 46 of community organisations and groups in the area to support their initiatives that ultimately benefit residents.

“These organisations and groups have shown their commitment to improving the lives of Shoalhaven residents and promoting community well-being,” said Mayor Amanda Findley.

“The funding they receive will help them continue their important work and provide essential programs and services,” said Cr Findley.

The Community Donations Panel carefully reviewed applications from local organisations and groups, evaluating each proposal based on a set criteria, budgets and alignment with community needs.

Donations fall under the following three categories: general community donations (culture, community and environment), sponsorship of local events, and subsidised rental, rates and use of Council facilities.
