Community Grants awarded in Murray River Council 28 October

Murray River Council

Murray River Council has awarded $30,699 in community grants to help support a wide range of community projects.

Community groups and not-for-profit organisations were able to apply for up to $3,000 for projects or events under the twice-annual grant round.

Murray River Council mayor, Cr Chris Bilkey said there was a great response to the grant program.

“There were many worthy projects submitted for consideration, highlight the amazing things that continue to go on in our towns, despite another challenging year.”

“The funded projects are spread throughout the council area, represent the diverse needs of our residents and will greatly promote the well-being of Murray River Council communities,” he said

The submitted applications represented a total funding request of $ 42,313, well above the $30,000 council had allocated towards the Community Grants Program.

The Assessment Panel recommended a total of fourteen projects be funded.
