Community Grants, Partnerships Supported By Council

Council has furthered its commitment towards the Townsville community through its grants and partnerships awarded at today’s Ordinary Council meeting.

India Fest, International Youth Fellowship, The Townsville Eisteddfod and The Eisteddfod Association of North Queensland will receive a share of $68,157.45 in cash and $56,890.34 in fee waivers from Council’s Community Grants.

Rollingstone & District Pineapple Festival, Townsville Choral Society, Dancenorth Australia, Life’s Little Treasures Foundation and Townsville Road Runners will receive a share of $144,724.57 in cash and $55,473.57 in kind during the 2024/25 financial year as part of Council’s Community Organisation Partnerships.

Shakespeare Under the Stars (TheatreiNQ) and Hone Events will receive a share of $73,211.06 cash and $2,749 in kind for the 2024/25 financial year as part of Council’s Economic Activation Partnerships.

Councillor Ann-Maree Greaney said Council was proud to support community-run events in Townsville.

“Community-run events are so valuable to Townsville, bringing positive economic impacts to our city,” Cr Greaney said.

“As a Council, we’re always looking for ways to support an engaged community that enables every resident to have a sense of belonging and connection. By throwing our support behind these great initiatives, we’re empowering our local community organisations to bring their ideas to life and to give Townsville residents and intrastate visitors the chance to see Townsville shine.”
