Community Hubs – yes we’re back, yes we’re back

Community - Community Hubs are back - Bec the Yoga instructor and her therapy dogHawkesbury Community Hubs have returned! It’s all for the community – connect, relax, and meet other community members. It’s free, and the Hubs have been an important part of community recovery after bushfires and floods in the Hawkesbury.

Hubs are held weekly and commence at 9:30am on the days and locations below:

  • Wednesdays – Wilberforce Hub – Wilberforce School of Arts
  • Thursdays – Colo Heights Hub – Colo Heights Hall
  • Fridays – St Albans Hub – St Albans School of Arts (closed Good Friday).

Upcoming FREE activities will include exercise classes, art and craft, digital literacy support (6 March) and mental health support.

Service NSW staff will attend Wilberforce School of Arts on Wednesdays, 6 March to 1 May and Colo Heights Community Hall on Thursdays 7 March to 2 May. Service NSW can support customers in accessing savings, rebates, and assistance to reduce the cost of living such as energy rebates, transport, toll relief rebate, Seniors Card, fee free apprenticeships, pension travel vouchers and more.

Council’s Community Planning and Partnerships team are pleased to be able to support the Hawkesbury community with opportunities to connect with each other and to access a wide range of services, including mental health support, exercise, art and craft classes, improved digital literacy skills and many other fun and special activities.

Over the years, the Hawkesbury Community Hubs have been a local place to gather, discuss issues and celebrate all things Hawkesbury. The Community Hubs has facilitated many services and organisations to come together and hear from you about important issues affecting your communities.

Post 2019/2020 bushfires funding for the Hubs Project has now been completed. The Community Hubs at Wilberforce, Colo Heights and St Albans will continue through a transition phase until mid-June 2024 under alternative funding.
