Following the launch of Healthy Sunshine Coast’s new Choose to Move program this week, Sunshine Coast Council is inviting the community to have their say on even more active and outdoor opportunities in the region.

In an effort to encourage more people to get out and explore their neighbourhoods, council is inviting feedback from the community on a proposed Walks Program, an initiative that aims to provide comprehensive wayfinding to enhance popular walks across the Sunshine Coast.

Division 7 Councillor Ted Hungerford shared advice from community and walking groups which helped to select Buderim as the trial site for the Walks Program.

“Buderim has a great mix of street pathways, parks, natural areas, historical sites and other convenient services,” Cr Hungerford said.

“This combination makes Buderim a great location to inspire more people to explore their neighbourhood.

“There are six walks proposed for Buderim and many are already popular treks, such as the Serenity Falls Walk and Buderim Tramway Walk, so we hope that our program will accentuate the existing outdoor opportunities in that community.
