Community invited to comment on Caloundra coastal pathway upgrade

Sunshine Coast Council

The Caloundra community is invited to comment on council’s plans to upgrade a section of the Coastal Pathway in Maloja and Tay Avenues, which will provide safer and easier access between Caloundra and Golden Beach.

Division 2 Councillor Tim Dwyer said this section of the Coastal Pathway was a high priority in the Coastal Pathway Master Plan.

“Our community loves this stretch of pathway and it’s becoming increasingly popular,” Cr Dwyer said.

“Upgrading this important link will cater for the increasing use and help keep pedestrians, cyclists and motorists safe along these roads.”

The concept plan includes a proposal to convert traffic flow to one-way eastbound.

The overall vision of the Coastal Pathway Master Plan is to develop a world class scenic coastal pathway for our community.

“The Coastal Pathway makes it easier and safer for our community to enjoy an active lifestyle and experience the iconic views, beaches and parks that are such a key part of living in our region,” Cr Dwyer said.

Residents can view the plans and provide feedback by February 28, 2019.
