Residents are encouraged to nominate names that celebrate Casey’s people, history, culture, helping shape the future identity of our growing city, following Council’s endorsement of the 2026-2029 Forward Works Program for Naming and Registration of Council-Owned Reserves and Community Facilities.
The three-year program provides a transparent roadmap for naming new community facilities, recreation reserves, and parks, while also identifying existing Council-owned reserves that require an official name or registration.
The program ensures new community places are named in a consistent and meaningful way that reflects the city’s history, culture and people who have helped shape it.
Mayor Cr Stefan Koomen said the naming of community places is an important way of preserving local stories and recognising people who have made a lasting contribution to Casey.
“We know there are many people across Casey whose stories deserve to be remembered. We’re keen to build a strong library of names so that when Council-owned reserves, community facilities and new parks are ready to be named, we have a diverse range of meaningful names to consider,” he said.
“It’s important that the community is involved in suggesting and selecting future names for the reserves and facilities across Casey. It is a wonderful way to recognise our history and the people who have made such a significant contribution to our community.”
As part of the endorsed Forward Works Program, Council will be looking to name the following locations:
