Community invited to help shape Ruby Wing Reserve Playground renewal

Georges River Council

Georges River Council wants to hear from residents about renewing the playground at Ruby Wing Reserve in Mortdale. This is part of the Council’s 2026/27 Playground Renewal Program.

Ruby Wing Reserve is a popular playground located near the Penshurst border that features shaded climbing equipment, slides, swings, a seesaw, and open grassy areas for recreation.

Council plans to upgrade the playground and wants your feedback before creating designs.

Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg said community feedback would play an important role in shaping the final design.

”Our parks and playgrounds play a vital role in recreation, connection, and wellbeing,” said Mayor Borg.

“By sharing your feedback, you can help us create a playground that local families and children will enjoy for years to come.”

The playground renewal aims to give children more chances to play, explore, and develop new skills. It will create an engaging and accessible environment.

The consultation is open until 20 September 2026. Council will review all feedback received to help inform the design of the renewed Ruby Wing Reserve playground.
