Community invited to learn about Council's plans for the future

Interested to know what projects are planned for Ballina Shire or how essential services will be delivered?

Ballina Shire Council’s Draft Delivery Program and Operational Plan 2023/24 – 2026/27 is now on exhibition until Monday 5 June 2023 and Council is seeking your feedback.

General Manager, Paul Hickey, explained the plans provide key actions and services for the 2023/24 financial year and summarise our major capital works and long term financial information.

“As a Council, we are the closest level of government to the community. Many of the services we provide such as water, wastewater, waste, open spaces, footpaths and drainage are all critical components of our day-to-day lives,” said Mr Hickey.

“The next four years promise to remain challenging as our shire continues to grow and we strive to maintain our essential infrastructure and provide new infrastructure, as and when required.”

Community information sessions will be held on the following dates:

  • 6pm – 7.30pm Wednesday 17 May 2023 – Wardell War Memorial Hall
  • 6pm – 7.30pm Thursday 18 May 2023 – Lennox Head Cultural Centre.

Ask the General Manager a question online at yoursayballina.com.au/delivery-program throughout the exhibition period.

“I encourage residents to attend an information session or send in a question if they can’t make it in person. It’s a good opportunity to get a better understanding of Council’s operations and plans for the next financial year.” added Mr Hickey.

The plans will be on exhibition from 4 May until 5 June 2023. Please take the time to look at the plans and provide feedback.
