A community meeting to update residents regarding the ongoing fire situation at The Pines will be held at 4pm today (Sunday 19 November) atScrubby Creek Rural Fire Brigade, 147 Camelia Court, Millmerran Downs.
Toowoomba Region Mayor Geoff McDonald said representatives of QFES and QPS would be on hand to update the community.
“Residents are encouraged to attend to hear the latest update from QFES.
“Overnight residents who have properties between Flamingo Road, Rosella Avenue and Scrubby Creek Boondanilla Road to the Gore Highway were all asked to leave immediately,” he said.
“Council provided assistance by making graders available, as well as a water truck and will continue to help out where possible.
“Council is still accommodating evacuees at the Wylahra Grove Hall and will make a decision about moving that to the Millmerran Showground depending on the information provided at the meeting.
“Please stay up to date with the latest warnings.”
