Community representatives called for Reference Panel

Wingecarribee Shire

Wingecarribee Shire Council is calling on members of the community to join one of four Community Reference Panels to guide the review and development of Council strategies in-line with its Community Strategic Plan.

Council’s Director Corporate Strategy and Resourcing Ms Carmel Foster said the panels provided an opportunity for interested community members to help shape Council’s strategic direction.

“This is a real-hands opportunity for locals to help shape and inform the direction of future Council strategies,” she said.

“Some of the strategies that the Reference Panel may be called upon to provide input may include strategies that look at community services, arts and culture or youth or senior services.”

A total of eight (8) community representatives are sought to join one of the four newly formed Reference Panels.

The four strategically focused Reference panels will look at either Climate Change and Environment, Community, Sport, Recreation and Leisure and Economy.

“Ideally we’d like people that have a strong affiliation with the Shire to nominate,” Ms Foster said. “We’d also love to get a broad representation of age, gender and expertise on the panels.”

The Reference Panels will also include three invited members from government and non-government agencies.

Meetings will be held quarterly from 3pm to 5pm on the following dates in 2023:

  • Thursday 16 March
  • Thursday 22 June
  • Thursday 21 September
  • Thursday 14 December
