Community’s chance to honour local achievers

Community members have just two weeks left to nominate deserving citizens and unsung heroes for recognition through the Wagga Wagga Local Achievement Awards.

Nominations are open across five categories – Diversity and Inclusion, Education, Healthy and Active Living, Arts and Culture, and Intergenerational Leadership.

The Wagga Wagga Local Achievement Awards, co-presented by Wagga Wagga City Council and Member for Wagga Dr Joe McGirr, recognise and celebrate the volunteer work of women and men aged 50 and over.

“We are lucky to have so many people in our community that selflessly give their time to clubs, groups, causes and more,” Wagga City Council’s Director Community Janice Summerhayes said.

“The Wagga Wagga Local Achievement Awards are a fantastic way to thank older volunteers for their enormous contribution to our community.”

Nomination forms are available from Customer Service at the Civic Centre and Dr Joe McGirr MP, Electorate Office 64 Baylis Street or on the Wagga Wagga Local Achievements page on our website.

Nominations close at 5pm on Monday 3 February 2020, ahead of the awards presentation on Friday 21 February at the Historic Council Chambers.
