Community Support Levy Grants Now Open

Nic Street,Minister for Community Services and Development

The Tasmanian Liberal Government recognises that gambling can have an impact on individuals, families and communities.

One of the aims of our Future Gaming Market policy is to continue to minimise these harms, with reforms that include doubling the level of the Community Support Levy (CSL).

Our Gambling Support Program continues to provide specialist support services, such as those delivered through our CSL grants, for people impacted by gambling.

The smaller grants provide opportunities for grassroots community organisations to access funding that will help them support Tasmanians and build stronger local communities, and eligible community organisations can now apply.

Applications will be considered across three categories:

  1. Small equipment grants of up to $5,000 for buying equipment;
  2. Community project grants of up to $25,000 for projects that support vulnerable communities and groups; and
  3. Innovation project grants of up to $110,000 to support projects focused on gambling harm prevention or early intervention.

Eligible community organisations are encouraged to download an application kit by visiting www.communities.tas.gov.au/disability/gambling/grants
