Community Survey Results Are In 25 June

Each year, we ask the community how they think we’re performing in a number of areas through the Community Satisfaction Survey.

This is conducted by our provider Metropolis who conducted 501 door-door interviews from randomly selected households.

Satisfaction with the overall performance of Knox City Council is at a record high with a score of 7.2.

All services/facilities ranked as important (7.5 or more score) and all services/facilities ranked as “Good”, “Very Good”, or “Excellent” satisfaction.

30 services and facilities achieved higher satisfaction scores than last year, 6 services maintained the result and no services had decreased satisfaction. These included:

  • Services for seniors – 10% higher
  • Maintenance and repairs of sealed local roads – 7% higher
  • Maintenance and repairs of major arterial roads/highways – 7% higher
  • Street sweeping – 6% higher
  • Council’s newsletter “Knox News” – 6% higher
  • Recreation Centres and / or Aquatic Centres – 5% higher
  • Public toilets – 4% higher

The main issue highlighted by residents was road maintenance and repairs. When asked what was driving this response, the majority of respondents indicated complaints about the maintenance of state-owned roads.

The survey is one of the many ways we gather feedback on how our customers are feeling about our services.

Feedback will inform Council’s plans and strategies and provide insight into ways we can continue to improve the services we deliver.
