Community Walk Against Domestic Violence: Bayside

This year Council is supporting the United Nations (UN) 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence which runs from 25 November to 10 December.

“As Mayor, I have worked hard to increase awareness and prevention of domestic, family, and sexual violence,” Mayor Dr Christina Curry said.

I also hope you will be able to join me and my fellow Councillors for a Community Walk Against Domestic Violence from Ramsgate to Depena Reserve on Saturday 26 November.

Bayside Local Government Area ranks 74th in NSW for domestic violence incidents, but I believe we can make a big difference through awareness, education, and action.

Council is working with key partners including NSW Police, Bay City Care, Bayside Women’s Shelter, Advance Diversity Services, Sydney Multicultural Services, South Eastern Community Connect and other local groups and services.

You may have already seen the signage on Council vehicles.
