A constable from Eastern Region has been charged following an internal investigation.
The 48-year-old male officer has been charged with possess unregistered handgun and unlicensed person store firearm insecure manner.
The alleged offending occurred while the officer was off duty in March and April, 2021.
He has been summonsed to face court at a later date.
