Construction has been completed on the ACT Government’s new South Tuggeranong Health Centre, marking a major milestone in delivering more healthcare services closer to where Canberrans live.
Located in Conder, the South Tuggeranong Health Centre will provide a range of community-based services to support preventative healthcare in Canberra’s south, including diabetes clinics, pathology collection, community paediatrics, and falls and injury prevention programs.
Along with 10 consultation rooms, the centre has spaces to support multidisciplinary group exercise and education sessions, community nursing and virtual care.
The centre has 30 client parking spaces, two accessible spaces and dedicated bike racks. It’s also close to public transport and a short walk from the Lanyon Marketplace shopping centre.
The 2026-27 Budget included more than $4 million over four years to operate the South Tuggeranong Health Centre, which is expected to welcome its first patients by the end of the year following final testing, commissioning and compliance activities.
With the exception of pathology, services delivered from this centre will be supported by an existing clinical workforce, with around 40 full-time equivalent staff transitioning from current Canberra Health Services sites into this new facility.
