Consultation commences for new Legana Primary School

Jeremy Rockliff,Minister for Education and Training

Consultation has now commenced on a new $20 million primary school to service the Legana community.

The new state-of-the-art learning facilities will cater for 350 students from Kindergarten to Year 6, and provide greater opportunities for future generations of learners in Legana.

In conjunction with the West Tamar Council, the Tasmanian majority Liberal Government will work hand in hand with the community to create a connected centre of educational excellence.

To assist in the consultation, a Get Involved campaign has been launched providing an opportunity for the community to shape their local schools and communities.

I encourage the community of Legana to share their ideas and vision for the school, through the Get Involved campaign, which runs until 27 March.

We know that schools are the heart of a community and that this will be an exciting place of connection for people in Legana.

The Tasmanian majority Liberal Government is committed to lifting education outcomes in the state, and ensuring each and every student has the best possible start to their education journey.
