In 2021, we consulted on:
- introduction of a new CRI position
- amending qualification requirements for RePL instructors.
These changes are expected to be introduced before 10 April 2024. They aim to alleviate the financial and administrative burden of all RePL instructors gaining the relevant qualifications. More than 90% of respondents agreed with the proposed amendments.
We are required to charge a fee to assess an individual’s application for the new CRI position of an approved RePL training organisation. It is proposed CASA will waive fees for existing remotely pilot aircraft operator’s certificate (ReOC) holders who apply before 10 July 2024.
This consultation is seeking your opinion on the proposed fee only.
We are not seeking feedback on the:
- new CRI position
- RePL instructor requirements.
We especially want to hear from RePL training organisations and instructors.
