Thank you, Boroondara, for helping to shape the future of our city.
Consultation to refresh the Boroondara Community Plan is now complete, and we are pleased to have heard from a wide range of people from different age groups, backgrounds and suburbs.
During December and January, we heard from more than 4,700 people who told us what was important to them – now and into the future.
We also held ‘Boroondara Conversations’ workshops throughout March and April, where more than 160 people representing our community’s diverse population deliberated on the findings from Stage 1 and key community issues.
Workshop participant Raj Liskaser said, “As a concerned citizen interested in making a difference to the ever-changing community of Boroondara, this experience has allowed me to advocate on behalf of my community and present different viewpoints that could make a big difference to their lives.”
She said, “Being involved in the Boroondara Community Plan refresh has given me confidence that Council is determined to engage the wider community and take into consideration all viewpoints when formulating their policies.”
A draft Boroondara Community Plan is expected to be released for public comment in late August or September 2021.
