Convenient one-stop shop brings Centrelink and Medicare services together in Rouse Hill

Residents in Sydney’s North West will enjoy easy access to government services when the Department of Human Services opens the new Rouse Hill Service Centre on Tuesday 8 October 2019.

The purpose built site brings Centrelink and Medicare services under one roof, with staff and services from Baulkham Hills Centrelink, Castle Hill Medicare and the current Rouse Hill shopfront co-locating to the new Rouse Hill Service Centre.

Department of Human Services General Manager Hank Jongen said the new service centre is a one-stop shop which will improve the community’s access to government services.

“The new Rouse Hill Service Centre offers the full range of Centrelink and Medicare services from a convenient single location, meaning people can do more of their government business in one place without the need to travel,” Mr Jongen said.

“The population of the North West is increasing significantly – bringing our services under one roof will provide the growing community with easy access to government services and best support them into the future.”

The move is also reflective of the way the community is choosing to access government services.

‘We’ve seen a great uptake in digital services over the past few years, with many people using myGov or our mobile apps to complete their business at a time and place that suits them,” Mr Jongen said.

“Most people are claiming their Medicare rebate directly at their doctor’s office, so there’s no need to visit a service centre.

“Staff at the Rouse Hill Service Centre will continue to provide personalised face-to-face support to those who need it.”

The new Rouse Hill Service Centre is located at 4 – 7 Commercial Road, Rouse Hill. It offers parking directly in front of the building and is well serviced by public transport.
