Western Australia has scored a major win, with multiple WWE events locked in through a massive three-year deal that will see the entertainment giant return to WA this December.
Secured by the Cook Labor Government, the new agreement will see Perth host three WWE Weekend Takeovers at RAC Arena from 2026 to 2028, with each weekend to feature a Friday Night SmackDown, a WWE Premium Live Event, and Monday Night RAW.
The first WWE Weekend Takeover under the new agreement will see RAC Arena host SmackDown on Friday, 11 December, followed by Wrestlepalooza:Perth on Saturday, 12 December, and Raw on Monday, 14 December.
The deal is expected to draw tens of thousands of WWE fans to Western Australia over the next three years, injecting millions of dollars into the State’s economy and boosting local tourism and hospitality jobs.
WWE events have proven to be massively successful in Perth, with the 2024 Elimination Chamber: Perth at Optus Stadium attracting more than 18,000 out-of-state visitors, while the 2025 WWE Weekend Takeover featuring Crown Jewel: Perth saw more than 12,500 out-of-state attendees.
Collectively, Perth’s WWE events have generated more than $58 million for the WA economy to date, supporting local tourism and hospitality businesses through an influx of out-of-state visitors.
The event festivities will extend beyond RAC Arena, with the WWE Weekend Takeovers to again be complemented by a WWE Superstore, fan meet-and-greets, and community events, creating vibrancy across the city and enhancing the fan experience.
Investing in major events is a key pillar of the Cook Labor Government’s economic diversification agenda as it boosts the broader tourism sector and supports local jobs and businesses.
