Police have charged a man following alleged copper theft incidents in Hemmant between September 2025 and June 2026.
It will be alleged that on seven occasions between 8 September 2025 and 8 June 2026, police were called to reports of copper theft at a site on Anton Road.
Police will allege the man unlawfully entered the site and stole copper wiring.
The man allegedly then sold the copper to another business.
A 50-year-old Thorneside man has been charged with thirty offences including ten counts of enter premises and commit an indictable offence, six counts of fraud involving refunds for stolen goods, and five counts of stealing.
The man has been remanded in custody to appear in the Cleveland Magistrates Court on 2 July 2026.
