Two men have been arrested after stealing copper from a construction site in Mitcham this morning.
Just before 3am Thursday 4 June, police were alerted by witnesses to trespassers inside a commercial property under renovation on Hill Street, Mitcham.
No offenders were found at the scene, however police located a large bundle of cut copper piping left near a shed.
Shortly afterwards the suspects returned to the scene attempting to collect the copper and were arrested.
Police searched the home address of the suspects where more copper piping was found along with a large quantity of brand-new car parts which were suspected to be stolen.
A 50-year-old man and a 32-year-old man, both from Mitcham, were charged with being unlawfully on premises, property damage and theft. They were both bailed appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court on 28 July.
