Copperlode Dam at 90 per cent capacity

A report tabled today at the Works Committee revealed Copperlode Dam was sitting at 91.4 per cent capacity on September 1, following August rainfall in the catchment of 24mm, down significantly from 38mm for the same period in the previous year.

More than 2100 megalitres of water was take from Copperlode Dam in August, with almost 800 megalitres also sourced from Behana Creek to cater to the city’s needs.

The report also noted that 4.1 million kerbside bin collections are undertaken by contractor JJ Richards every year.

In the last 12 months, less than 300 bin collections have been missed.

* Resolutions from today’s Works Committee (Infrastructure, Water, Waste and Wastewater) meeting need to be ratified at the next Ordinary Meeting of Council, to be held on 23 September 2020.
