Council Announces Appointment Of Acting Director Of Business, Cultural, And Financial Services

Following the recent resignation of Director of Business, Cultural, and Financial Services, Steve Saffioti, Griffith City Council is pleased to announce that Max Turner has been appointed as the Acting Director.

Mr Turner, who held the position previously, will officially assume his responsibilities on Monday, March 11, 2024, and will conclude his term on Friday, August 29, 2025. During this period, he will be working four days a week (Monday to Thursday) and will actively participate in all Council meetings, workshops, and Committee meetings as required.

General Manager, Brett Stonestreet, said he is delighted that Mr Turner will be available to work with Council for this fixed period, especially during the crucial 2024/25 budget preparation process and its subsequent implementation.

“The appointment of Mr Turner allows Council ample time during the early months of 2025 to conduct a thorough recruitment process for a permanent Director to fill this vital role,” he said.

Mr Stonestreet also thanked Vanessa Edwards, who has been Acting Director and will continue in the role until Mr Turner assumes his duties on March 11.
