Council awards more than $1 million in contracts

Greater Shepparton City Council noted the awarding of more than $1 million in contracts at the June Council Meeting, with three local companies successful in their tenders.


The contracts involved more than $740,000 for an intersection upgrade at Davies Road and Lancaster-Mooroopna Road. The contract, awarded to local company Jarvis Delahey Contractors, will involve an overall upgrade to the intersection and sealing of 800 metres of Davies Road, Lancaster.

More than $260,000 was awarded to Tatura company NL Drainage and Concrete Construction for a water main relocation along Welsford Street. These works will pave the way for Stage 4 of the Welsford Street upgrade.

Another Tatura company, Tactile Australia Pty Ltd, were successful in receiving a contract for more than $80,000 for the construction of kerb, channel and drainage in Maher Street, Tatura.

Mayor, Cr Shane Sali said Council were pleased to award the contracts to local companies and see the money reinvested into the community.

“We are always pleased to be able to award contracts and see works and upgrades get underway across the region, however we are even more pleased when these contracts are awarded to one of the many great local companies in Greater Shepparton,” he said.

“We look forward to seeing each of these contracts completed and the money reinvested back into our region and our local economy. Congratulations to each of the successful businesses.”
