Ararat Rural City Council has delivered on another key infrastructure priority, completing essential footpath upgrades along Albert Street in Ararat to boost safety and connectivity for the local community.
The newly finished stretch between Currajong and Grano streets saw the existing footpaths removed and replaced with new asphalt surfaces.
The project upgraded surrounding nature strips and improved local drainage to ensure long-term pedestrian accessibility.
The upgrades were funded through Council’s Capital Works Program, which includes a dedicated initiative targeting the ongoing maintenance and improvement of Ararat Rural City’s footpaths and cycleways.
“Council is committed to continuing to invest in infrastructure renewal and improvements to deliver better and safer walkways for our residents,” said Ararat Rural City Council CEO, Dr Tim Harrison.
“This project is part of a key initiative to enhance and preserve our pedestrian and cycling infrastructure to support the broader transportation network, create better connectivity across the municipality, and encourage residents to participate in active, outdoor activities.”
