Council endorses Pittsworth Pioneer Historical Village Strategic Master Plan

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) has set out a 10-year vision for the Pittsworth Pioneer Historical Village.

Adopted at the Ordinary Meeting of Council, TRC Environment and Community Committee Chair Cr James O’Shea said the Pittsworth Pioneer Historical Village Strategic Master Plan was an important planning tool for the growth of this community facility.

“We’re fortunate to have such a well-used site in Pittsworth which is home to a number of community groups,” he said.

“These community groups do amazing work for the Pittsworth region and we want to support their growth.

“In developing this plan, Council has met with each of the user groups to get a better understanding of their current needs and what they anticipate the needs will be, moving into the future.

“The Master Plan balances the valuable historic village agenda and assets with the ongoing interests and investment of each of the community groups.”

The Master Plan sets out a structural framework for any future site works, ensuring any proposed interventions address and respond to the overarching site intent – as a celebration of Pittsworth’s pioneering culture and heritage.

In addition to this, the Master Plan will provide community groups with a blueprint to support future grant funding requests.

At the Ordinary Meeting on 21 September, Council endorsed the Pittsworth Pioneer Historical Village Strategic Master Plan Report and the Report be used in the formation of future Capital Works Plans and Operational Budgets for the upgrade, development and ongoing maintenance of the Pittsworth Pioneer Historical Village.
