Council facilities opening – Covid update

Council facilities will reopen following the easing of restrictions from 11.59pm Tuesday 27 July 2021 thanks to the great efforts of all Victorians during the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Customer Service counter at Bayside Corporate Centre – 76 Royal Avenue Sandringham facilities will open on Wednesday 28 July.

Brighton, Sandringham and Beaumaris libraries will open from Wednesday 28 July. Hampton library will open from Thursday 29 July.

The Bayside Gallery, Community Nursery and other Council facilities can also reopen according to capacity restrictions.

Schools are returning and crossing supervisors will be back on their crossings.

Community sport can resume and we will be assisting clubs to return to Council facilities to enable training and competitions.

Please follow current restrictions

Face masks must be carried at all times and remain mandatory indoors and outdoors. Please wear a face masks when visiting a Council facility.

Do not visit us if you are feeling unwell or have been tested for COVID-19 and are waiting on a test result.

Private gatherings in the home are not permitted. You can gather outdoors in public – up to 10 people.

Testing

If you have visited a Tier 1 or 2 exposure site or if you have any symptoms of COVID-19, you should get tested. This includes cold or flu like symptoms, such as a cough, fever, sore throat, shortness of breath or runny nose, even if these are mild.

The main COVID-19 test sites in Bayside are at Sandringham Hospital (walk up) and Brighton Golf Course on Dendy Street (drive through).

Checking in

Checking in via the Victorian Government QR code is mandatory in all Council facilities, shops, cafes and other businesses etc regardless of how long you visit.

Checking in helps with contact tracing and keeps Victoria safe and open.

Vaccinations

Council is not a COVID-19 vaccination provider but there are number of vaccination providers in Bayside or within a short distance of Bayside.
