Community groups and organisations across the region are being encouraged to attend community grant information sessions for the latest round of the East Gippsland Shire Council Grants Program.

This round closes on Wednesday, March 4.

Information sessions will be held at council’s libraries as follows:

  • Bairnsdale: Monday, February 3 from 5–6pm
  • Orbost: Tuesday, February 4 from 1–2pm
  • Lakes Entrance: Tuesday, February 4 from 5–6pm
  • Paynesville: Wednesday, February 5 from 5–6pm
  • Omeo: Thursday, February 6 from 1–2pm

Mayor Cr John White said the program’s funding is available for a wide range of activities and grant officers will be on hand to answer questions and discuss your project as well as providing advice and tips on applying for grants.

“The sessions can really assist community groups to successfully apply for a variety of events and projects like music and arts festivals, technology upgrades for community groups, picnic tables, kitchen upgrades of community facilities, safety equipment and more,” Cr White said.

Funding is available in three categories: Community Project (up to $5,000), Arts and Heritage (up to $5,000, major arts projects up to $10,000) and Regional and District Event Sponsorship (funding available for up to three years).
