Council Office Closures For Essential Systems Upgrades

Council wishes to inform the community that its Cooma Council office will be closed to both the public and Council staff from Monday 18 March 2024 to Friday 22 March 2024 inclusive, to facilitate essential electrical, IT and safety upgrades to the Commissioner St building.

Phone-lines, all digital systems, front counter services and payments will also be unavailable at any Council office region-wide on Monday 18 March 2024. The waste facilities and visitor centre services will not be impacted.

This temporary closure is necessary to facilitate essential electrical and safety upgrades within the building, including compliance upgrades to the main switchboard, installation of an automatic fire detection and alarm system, and IT server room improvements and maintenance. Given the full council systems failure in November 2023, these works are critical to prevent this from happening in the future.
